The old library was established in 1960’s by the ministry of education. In 2008 the family of Mr. Nesf Essa Alasfour asked the government for the possibility of constructing a new library  which the ministry council agreed and accepted the donation from the Alasfour family for such project. The renovation was completed and the furnished building was handed to the ministry on 2013. There was a soft opening in 2015.
